Is there anything that can be done to fix this pump? The cord cover has come out. It's not currently leaking any voltage, but I would like to do what I can to make sure it doesn't get any worse. 0316131100a_zpsd2b7dba5.jpg

I would carefully cut around the outer cord way up the other end. Slip it back down and seal it with silicone.

I'd get rid of it, or use it in non-submerged role somehow.

I'd be worried that it will eventually fail and trip a circuit breaker, causing much larger problems.

What about liquid electrical tape? Then some silicone over that to be safe?

If this pump is not going in water I would use ulra black by permatex and put a nice glob around it the way it is. I use this stuff on auto's in the garage and it seals just about anything but I'm not sure if it would be non toxic to aquatic life in the water. I don't think after it cured it would hurt anything but I'm not 100% sure of that
