Mangrove with no leafs -> any good ?

Recommended Posts

I have a bunch of Mangroves in my sump. While some have leaves growing well, with new leafs growing, other have dropped all their leaves. All have good root systems going.

Are the mangroves with no leaves left still of any good ?

Could it be of harm ? The roots are still fine and not rotting.

I have left this leafless mangroves in the tank for over a month and still the roots don't rot.

A lot of aquatic plants will lose their leaves when the plant is getting used to a new aquarium. it should grow back.

Not always, could be the shoot has died. Squeeze it a bit to see if it is soft and rotted. The leaves should be sprayed with fresh water periodically.

+1, i've had success growing them but you really do need to spray them down at least once a day with fresh water and you have great chances at some beautiful mangroves under the correct lighting.
