MBVette January 6, 2013 January 6, 2013 If I want to add hermits to the tank which are the ones that are the safest. I say that loosely bc I know none of them are really safe with snails and other things. I have heard that both scarlet and blue crabs are in the safer variety. But just looking for some more input. Thanks
zygote2k January 6, 2013 January 6, 2013 scarlets grow fast and become an issue. I use tiniest blue legs that I can find. I currently have about 300 in my 120.
Rosco's Reefs January 6, 2013 January 6, 2013 Don't they eat your snails? Or do you use crabs instead of snails? Thx
Coral Hind January 6, 2013 January 6, 2013 I have never seen a hermit attack and kill a snail that is upright. I have seen snails that have fallen off the glass or rocks and the crab run over to clean them out but I think it would have to be a good size crab to flip a snail over and eat it. Between the two you listed I would go with the blue legged.
