Cliff Puckstable January 4, 2013 January 4, 2013 Does anyone know what this is in the center of the pictures? It's wiggly like, and it seems to be killing the zoas surrounding it. its got green tenticles and pink/purple tips.
flooddc January 4, 2013 January 4, 2013 looks like baby anemone or aiptasia. see if you can remove without killing it!
Cliff Puckstable January 4, 2013 Author January 4, 2013 I originally thought it was aiptasia, but it doesn't look like any of the pictures I've searched. It's much prettier than aiptasia.
jimlin January 4, 2013 January 4, 2013 didnt know it can grow from under all those zoas. thats crazy.
Coral Hind January 4, 2013 January 4, 2013 Can you get a top down picture? I would think that a mojanos would sting the zoas. Could it be another zoa with long tentacles?
Cliff Puckstable January 4, 2013 Author January 4, 2013 its hard to get a good picture of it. All I have is an iphone for a camera. It almost looks like a fungia.
Coral Hind January 4, 2013 January 4, 2013 That almost looks like a baby duncan. Does it have a hard base/skeleton to it at all or is totally soft?
Cliff Puckstable January 4, 2013 Author January 4, 2013 It feels kinda hard. It's really tiny, I didnt want to crush it. I removed it from the zoa colonies and glued it to its own plug. Should I just leave it in there and see what happens? I just don't want a pest to spread its hiv in my tank.
flooddc January 4, 2013 January 4, 2013 With hard base, mostly likely not nuisance. Nice find! keep it and see what's it turn out to be.
