zygote2k November 10, 2012 Share November 10, 2012 In one of the service tanks, there was an AEFW event some time back. I dipped all of the SPS 4 times over the course of 2 months and scrubbed the bases and affected areas as much as possible to remove any unhatched eggs. 6 months later they show up again and I start the process again. What is the best way to ensure that they never show up again?
ctenophore November 10, 2012 Share November 10, 2012 Remove all the acros for a few months, or just learn to live with them. Periodically blowing them off with a powerhead and letting some wrasses eat them when floating around seems to be the best. You'll never get rid of them in an established tank with encrusted bases. Coral Hind November 11, 2012 Share November 11, 2012 I have always dipped all the corals every week for three weeks. That seemed enough to break the cycle. AEFW were the worst pests I've ever had to deal with.
