Ryan S November 9, 2012 November 9, 2012 Does anyone have a 36" ATI 10x39w Powermodule? I would like to borrow one if possible. I just want to see the coverage over my tank and compare it to my MH reflector. I can leave my fiancee as collateral or something lol. I would bring it back within an hour or two of borrowing it. LMK. Thanks. Ryan
steveoutlaw November 10, 2012 November 10, 2012 Holy cow......are you planning to switch lights AGAIN???

Incredible Corals November 10, 2012 November 10, 2012 A 10 bulb would 100% cover that entire area. Do you still have the canopy? You could get a retro fit kit from reef geek.com
zygote2k November 10, 2012 November 10, 2012 Ryan- why don't you go back to LED? Swallow your pride, take some ribbing from a few dozen members, and get on with the reef. It's obvious that the Radions didn't put out enough light or coverage for your tank, so why not try another light like the Vertex? Since the tank is in the living room, you want a nice sleek look. You don't need a chiller in the living room either. The T5's will require the chiller too. Maybe you could have Chucelli build you a custom multi channel dimmable LED fixture?
Ryan S November 10, 2012 Author November 10, 2012 Rob, I am not convinced yet that LEDs are the best light for SPS. I am also not convinced that they can handle deep tanks that are 27"+ deep. But if it comes down to it, I don't mind the ribbing.

I would mount it on the tank with the legs, or hang from the ceiling. Just curious how much better the coverage would be, and I predict it would be a lot better.
STEVE November 10, 2012 November 10, 2012 Just my opinion....stick with the MH, If you can cope with the heat. Tried and true method! But here is the key, either T-5's or MH......STICK WITH IT! Your not giving it enought time. I believe that lighting, either MH or T-5's are not the problem to your tank. STABILITY IS. Just my .02 worth. Alkalinity, I'm learning, is a bigger key than anything. Everyone likes to blame/credit the lights, I am starting to see personaly, that it is just good work ethics, ie, water changes, getting you Alk right, keeping your tank clean. Like I said, Just my opinion.
Ryan S November 10, 2012 Author November 10, 2012 Steve.. I love it when you talk dirty to me.. But seriously, back on topic, does anyone have one I can borrow by chance?
epleeds November 10, 2012 November 10, 2012 Ryan. Have u checked RC for a thread for the 150 DD tanks. I'm sure someone there has that fixture and can post pics. I don't recall anyone here having that fixture on wamas
ChrisTran November 10, 2012 November 10, 2012 Ryan, If you come down this way, you can check out my setup. Chris
STEVE November 10, 2012 November 10, 2012 Ryan, I have been trying to get up with Chris for a year!!! Go check his stuff out! I hear he has a nice tank!
Ryan S November 10, 2012 Author November 10, 2012 Ryan, I have been trying to get up with Chris for a year!!! Go check his stuff out! I hear he has a nice tank! I have tried too. He is MR BUSY all the time lol. I definitely want to see it in person. And for the record, he runs more than 10 T5 bulbs over his 150g DD...
ChrisTran November 10, 2012 November 10, 2012 Steve and Ryan. My other tank is up and running, you should come and check it out. Send me a pm and we can arrange the time. Ryan, I can turn off couple bulbs so you have an idea of the coverage area.
STEVE November 10, 2012 November 10, 2012 Ryan/Chris...Tried to PM both, but doesnt look like it's working right now?
Muddy357 November 10, 2012 November 10, 2012 I was up at Chris's house this morning picking up a small cube tank and his setup is awesome. The new shallow reef he has setup is amazing and his 150 DD is one of my favorite tanks I have seen so far...
