STEVE October 23, 2012 Share October 23, 2012 Where do you get the strainers that go over your 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" over flow's? Any where local? I have a 1 1/4 piece of pipe I need to put one on.

STEVE October 24, 2012 Author Share October 24, 2012 I cant really describe the one I saw on someones tank......It looked like a miniture floor drain. It was low profile, unlike the bulkhead strainers.....if that makes any sense.

IMO, the bulkhead strainers are better .. the 'low profile' type, i.e. the ones that lie flat against the bulkhead and don't protrude into the tank, tend to clog up quicker. A large snail can sit on the low profile and reduce the waterflow thru it enough to possibly cause a tank over flow. just my .
