matt bills October 15, 2012 Share October 15, 2012 What do you all do when a return is not draining. I took a big rubber hose and pushed it down but cant get past the 90 degree elbow.

BowieReefer84 October 15, 2012 Share October 15, 2012 Once you cut it put in a union and that way you have a way to clean it in the future.

zygote2k October 15, 2012 Share October 15, 2012 I had a tiny snail live and grow in the return lines. When it got big enough, it sealed off one of the lines causing a flood. A saw, glue, and fittings took care of the problem within 20 mins.

hypertech October 15, 2012 Share October 15, 2012 I don't think I would want to put the pressure of sawing on an installed pipe. You are risking a crack at the bulk head. I'd use a pipe cutter. A pipe cutter is a good tool to have anyway. Once I finally bought one I wanted to kick myself for not getting one sooner. So much better for cutting pipe than a saw.
