dont know why the pics are not showing up

top pic is the t5, bottom is mh. I could not get the color balance correct on the t5...will try again later

Looks good. What lamps do you have in the T5 setup, Steve? The reds stand out better in the picture. Is there a KZ Fiji Purple or some other reddish lamp in the fixture?

The combo is 3 blue plus, 1 purple plus, 2 aqua blue. I am going to take a AB out and another either BP or PP. I like the warm look.

oooops, I meant add another Blue Plus or Purple Plus...depending. Over all I am very pleased with the spectrum, Very Pleased!

Like I said over 600 4" below the surface, and 290-300 on the sandbed.

really like the rockwork by the way, this is the "color corrected" t5 pick aka you got the white balance captured better???regardless tank looks nice

Thanks Evan! I just cant seem to get it! I changed the buld config this morning, I was trying to warm it up some. They look so much nicer in person though.

Trick tip: I used a point an shoot Canon and covered the flash with my finger when I took pics of my previous tank. I also made sure there was not much light in the room at the time.

My eyes must be bad. They look the same to me ;)

No, I notice the reds, as Tom pointed out, look much better with the T5s.

Take a pic in 3 months, then compare it to the last MH pic. That will help the most. I am sure the T5s will do just great for you. I can't think of many (any?) tanks with T5's that aren't beautiful. Heck, even Travis's tank is beautiful.

I wish I could put the pics side by side to compare them. The MH one and the most recent t5 one I just posted this morning....:lol2:

Hold on.

Help Tom, I know Im an idiot, I have tried and tried to figure this posting thing out, just cant seem to get it. I liked it better the old way when you could just copy and paste the pic.

The old way is still there, but everybody has always been limited to very little in the way of attachment space and they run out of that space very quickly with photos that aren't compressed down to a few K. I forget what the limit is, but it's something like 2MB for the entire account.

Anyway, take a look at the syntax of what you're pasting up above. ^^^ Please note, I've substituted angle brackets for square brackets so everything is revealed and the forum software won't try to insert a picture. Look how complex it is. If, on the photobucket page, you highlight and copy just the IMG code, it will look like this:

<IMG>http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp83/flyinphotog/DSC_3880_zpsc28d38be.jpg</IMG>

Again, note that I've substituted angle brackets in for square brackets to reveal what the syntax of the insertion looks like. The syntax is

<tag><hyperlink></tag> where "tag" is "IMG".

Make sure that your photo inserts look like this and you'll be fine. One of the photobucket link options - called IMG code - is just what you need. Just copy it and paste it as text. It's already complete just the way it is. DON'T use any of the helper buttons in the forum's reply box when doing it this way.

At the risk of confusing things, there's another way to do it, too. There's also two icons just above the reply box. If you dwell over the first one, a descriptor that says "Insert Image" will pop up. Clicking on this will give you a pop up window. If you just copy the hyperlink (the html part without any tags) to your photobucket image, then the same code shown above is generated.

Summarizing:

Wrong:

<url="http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp83/flyinphotog/DSC_3880_zpsc28d38be.jpg</IMG">http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp83/flyinphotog/DSC_3880_zpsc28d38be.jpg</IMG</url>>

Right:

<IMG>http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp83/flyinphotog/DSC_3880_zpsc28d38be.jpg</IMG>

(Replace < with [, and > with ].)

Here's what happens if I fix the syntax in your last post so it reads the right way, but replace the angle brackets with square brackets...

Upload them to Photobucket and copy the [/img] tag url as Tom explained. You can post them side by side as well, but you'd have to make sure they are sized small enough to display on an average sized screen.

Let's have some fun. Patterns don't match exactly, but here's a split screen view. Upper left is MH. Lower right is your new T5.
