treesprite August 10, 2012 August 10, 2012 (edited) My GBTA is getting big and today it's tentacles are touching a frag as they wave around. Do anemones damage corals they touch in this manner, or is it under particular circumstances? Are some corals ok when in contact with anemones and others not? I would like to know what I can keep in that part of the tank without having to worry about coral deaths. Edited August 10, 2012 by treesprite
Jon Lazar August 11, 2012 August 11, 2012 I can't think of any coral that can withstand contact with an anemone.
Incredible Corals August 11, 2012 August 11, 2012 anemone tentacles + coral frags = dead corals. +1 it might not be immediate but the coral will die.
treesprite August 11, 2012 Author August 11, 2012 How the heck am I going to have any corals in that part of the tank?
chucelli August 11, 2012 August 11, 2012 see the dead zone? You can try some gutter screening. Without it, that whole colony would be dead. -Robert
flooddc August 11, 2012 August 11, 2012 They sting any coral nearby. I constantly move my corals or the rock the anemone attached to.
treesprite August 11, 2012 Author August 11, 2012 I broke off the red planet frag and moved it elsewhere. I'm very grateful that the anemone has not once moved from that spot since I've had it.
