Larry Grenier July 19, 2012 Share July 19, 2012 What do you guys do to keep your ATO switch working properly and not getting "stuck" one or off? Vinegar bath maybe?
Big Country July 19, 2012 Share July 19, 2012 I've given mine a vinegar bath and toothbrush scrub before when I've suspected that it was sticking

hypertech July 20, 2012 Share July 20, 2012 Nothing. I have a backup switch that triggers an alarm if the first fails. Its never gone off. That's not to say it can't, its just not a big enough worry that I bother with any prevantative matinenance.
Big Country July 21, 2012 Share July 21, 2012 My current ato, from autotopoff.com, has a safety float also, it's never failed and set off the safety in 2 years of use so I've never bothered to clean the lower float. My old ultralife ato stuck a few times and I had to clean it with vinegar.
Chad July 21, 2012 Share July 21, 2012 I use a pressure switch. No moving parts, I periodically (maybe twice a year at most) look at it to make sure the tube is still clear, but that's about it.
