I thought that the Heniocus Acuminatus was the nipper and that the duphrates was reef safe.

Your right, my confusion with acuminatus. The duphrates do grow fast and over 8" so that is something to think about but it would look cool to see a large school of them in an 8' tank.

Looks great Anthony.....now bring me some nice size frags down to Woodbridge !

Thanks everyone!

Looking sweet! I'm really miss having SPS right now!

You may miss SPS, but now you can have a huge tank filled with angels, eels, triggers, wrasse, tusks....and this awesome list goes on :)

dude... seriously... this tank is awesome. I love that blue bottom brush. What size was that when you got it and what is the growth like?

Thanks! That is actually Hawkins Echanata that I got from Bob (Rocko) about 1.5yrs ago as a single .75" branch frag, now a little under the size of a tennis ball! It would be larger, but it got stressed out during all the transitions from different systems while setting up the 330.

This tank is an inspiration - please keep the pics coming! absolute eye candy.

Thanks, Omair!

How bout a FTS, its been awhile.

Per your request :)

Anthony this tank is simply stunning.....as I was reading through each time I came to a new page with pictures I took mental bets as to whether or not there would be sand LOL...i couldn't agree with myself as to whether there should be an inch in there or not....how are you liking the bare bottom?

Great job and please keep the pics coming...I am setting up a 180 now and only can wish it comes out half as great as this....

Thanks! Yeah, I don't regret going bare bottom especially with SPS, which has allowed me to be able to turn all pumps full blast without the worry of sand blowing around. However, I can't say that I don't still contemplate throwing some sand in there, as I do miss the look. Best of luck with the 180!!

I normally think the BB look like they are unfinished for some reason....but this tank looks just perfect to me..I was going to put in larger grain sand that doesn't blow around or a blend of fine and large to try to keep the sand anchored while still allowing some serious flow....but Anthony's tank is making me question that....I wonder if I have a sand dependency lol...

looking sweet! congrats. I need to come over and do a little shopping!

Thanks, Bob! Come shop anytime :)

Thanks again! I will also say it is so much easier to clean detritus out no, because it will vortex into little piles that are easily siphoned out. The one downside for me right now is not being able to have particular wrasses that require a sandbed. I've thought of adding a little tub of sand under a rock, but then it will just get flicked or blown out. I know that you sometimes can get away with bare bottom and they will just sleep tucked under a rock, but I don't want to take the chance and stress anything out.
