I need to drill my frag tank (NAGA) and wanted to see if anyone had 1 1/2 and 1 inch drill bits I could borrow. I have never drilled before and if anyone could assist or do this for me I would pay.

That is what I used when I drilled holes in my 1" eurobracing. You want to drill a pilot hole all the way through first. Then drill half way on each side with the hole saw. If the acrylic is thin .25" you don't have to drill on both sides. If it's think 1"+ you risk the hole saw getting stuck half way through.

Run the hole saw slowly. Too much speed generates too much heat which causes the plastic to melt a little and causing the bit to bind (or stick).

Not that I know more than some of the old guys on here... but I would still make myself a wooden template, to set in the bottom before drilling so that your hole bit can't run around.... acrylic isn't probably as bad as glass for the bits running, but why not be safe....

That's a good idea. Most of the bits in the size range that he is needing will have a pilot bit so that makes the job much easier and no need for a template.
