John August 27, 2011 August 27, 2011 So the local gas utility company decided to start evacuating the natural gas lines some 200 yards from my house tonight...aside from sounding like the jet engines of a 747, should I be concerned about the tank? House is closed off at the moment, but is there anything I need to "watch" tonight? My sense of hearing is gone, but I still have my sight...aggrrrr...

JungliztKruger August 27, 2011 August 27, 2011 Grab a set of headphones and listen to some music or pandora. It'll help save your ears and not bore you to death either
Origami August 27, 2011 August 27, 2011 I wouldn't worry too much about the gas if you can't smell it. Natural gas from the company has an additive that makes it very pungent at very low concentrations. You're unlikely to get much of it absorbed into your tank.
Coral Hind August 27, 2011 August 27, 2011 I agree, I doubt much if any gas would get diffused into the saltwater. If you are worried or do smell the gas I would stop skimming for the day.
John August 27, 2011 Author August 27, 2011 Yep, didn't notice anything with the tank...even last night I couldn't smell it...I'd imagine the pressure behind that line shot the gas several hundred feet in the air...putting it to bed...thanks!
