killrblue August 1, 2011 August 1, 2011 1260 vs 1262? This is my first time having a sump and plumbing. I have a glass-holes 700gph overflow kit with a 40g Breeder/20g Sump. Should I go higher or lower in gph for the return pump with the overflow?
roni August 1, 2011 August 1, 2011 the 1260 would be fine for you. You'll get about 500-600 gph, which is plenty for a 40 breeder. I have the same pump driving my np reactor and my return on a 70 cube.
FearTheTerps August 1, 2011 August 1, 2011 1260 should be fine, but you could also get the 1262 and just dial it back if you need too.
extreme_tooth_decay August 11, 2011 August 11, 2011 (edited) Is there a good rule of thumb for “gph” cycling through a system? nope You'll see anything from 2x to 50x Edited August 11, 2011 by extreme_tooth_decay
