BowieReefer84 May 7, 2011 May 7, 2011 I have two digital timers that are able to be programmed down to the minute. I set the time on both of them, and am attempting to get the TIMER function to operate effectively. (setting up my BRS doser pumps finally) Timer #1 has ON / AUTO ON / AUTO OFF / OFF I can not seem to find the spot where it only operates while the timer portion of the program is set. Timer #2 has ON / AUTO / OFF Same issue as above. Timer #1 is from lowes, and timer #2 is from BRS... I am furious. Please let me know if you have worked with a timer like this. I feel like they "should" work and I am missing something. Thanks! Mike

The timers are the issue. The dosers claim 1.1ml per minute. I ran them both for 18 min, and the both dosed EXACTLY 20ml. I am sold. If the timers don't get going I will have to buy a controller of somesort. Are any of those internet capable controllers compatible with DROID?
Coral Hind May 7, 2011 May 7, 2011 Do you have any more info on the timers, make or model? Can you detail the timer program so we can see what you are trying to do?
FearTheTerps May 7, 2011 May 7, 2011 (edited) The ON and OFF should be overrides for the timer. If you select ON the device plugged in will operate continously regardless of the time and your settings, same thing for OFF. AUTO is the selection you should use to have the timer work based on the time and settings. Not 100% sure about AUTO ON and AUTO OFF, are the time settings programed as ON at 12:00 am and OFF at 12:01 am? or are the settings for a time interval? like on at 12:00 am for X numbers of minutes? If its for a time interval, I would assume that the the AUTO ON and AUTO OFF just controls whether the device should be ON or OFF for the interval period. Edited May 7, 2011 by FearTheTerps
F&Fmgr May 7, 2011 May 7, 2011 i have that exact timer auto on is if you want to turn it on but have it go off based on the next off cycle. also when it turns itself on it will read auto on. auto off is if you want to let the timer to provide power based on the programs. hit "set" to set the on of cycle. on, and off are pretty explanatory. I use these because if i have a customer that comes in before the lights are on, I press "manual" until it says auto on. then i dont have to worry about remembering to turn them off later b/c it still automates the switch to auto off. think of the manual button as an override, and the auto on as a safety feature.\ I beleive mine came from Lowes as well. hope that helps. Sean PS im still working the details on the ac jr, LMK if you still want it.

I have this entered into program #1 for 7 days a week. Do I set timer to "Auto Off?" It seems there should be an "AUTO" but there is not. It is either "auto on" or "auto off"...
F&Fmgr May 7, 2011 May 7, 2011 set it to auto off and it will turn on by itself when it then goes to auto on

Guest thefishman65 May 8, 2011 May 8, 2011 And make sure all the other timers are cleared. I got one that had 24 intervals and someone set timer 23 to come on and not go off (mine intervals would eventually turn it off). Luckily I top off from a reserve that is not enough to imbalance the tank too much.
