Hello everyone,

I'd like to add a moonlight to my 72" Nova Extreme Pro light fixture. Does

Anyone have any recommendations for led light options and installation in the fixture?

Thx

Matt

Current USA had these LED MOONLIGHTS. I have the older style that has been discontinued. The older ones were 2 leds, and had a bulky fixture, while the newer model has 3 leds and looks pretty streamline. With the new ones I would think you would to able to mount them anywhere, even between your t5 bulbs with no problems at all. They are super bright, you wouldnt need more then 2 sets( I had 3x2 leds on my 72 bow and it was super bright), the only really bad thing is you have to buy the power supply seperately. But for about 35 bucks for the whole set up isnt bad.

One 1 watt LED will be sufficient to use as a moonlight. After all, the moon does not sufficiently light anything for visibility to occur. If you had a programmable timer, you could actually use it to emulate phases of the moon. The moon does not always light up every night either. Your fish and corals need darkness as much as light to thrive.

+2 on robs quote, look at the neptune lunar sim, they have a good table for the times the moon is up etc...half the time people think the lights are broken because often the moon is up during the day time....but if its just for viewing you can always just have it on an on off switch and only turn it on when you want to look at it.

Coralhind has a nice little cheap purple incandescent bulb he uses that works really well.
