Dead eyes??

Now that it has happened to three different chalices - does anyone know what could cause the 'eyes' (mouths) of chalices to die - with the rest of the coral just fine? Several days to a week later, the eyes start filling back in again. Sometimes just one or two eyes, sometimes several of them. Ideas??

Bob- what you are describing sounds like you are saying that they are winking at you...

You need to take a vacation if they start talking to you.

could the eyes have bleached and now recovering?

How often does this happen? Is it just the color bleaching or fading as Doug mentioned or is it actual tissue loss?

have you noticed if the eyes and skin under it inflate? i had a nice colony do that and peel off, its still in my tank because im hoping there may be somthing left and still come back but i doubt it.
