20k Opinions?

Well, its time to upgrade my current lighting on my 12g aquapod...(Going on 9 months or so and Diatoms are showing up)

 

Currently using a 150w Pheonix 14k, in a Current USA Sunpod, Love the color, researched with good PAR rating ect, but Its on to a Bluer Bulb!

 

What are my best options taking into consideration:

Growth Rates

Color

PAR ratings?

 

A few pic after about 2 months of burn time

 

 

 

I've heard that some XM bulbs arn't fitting in the Sunpod Fixtures?

 

 

What would be my best choice when it comes to Choosing a 20k Bulb?

Radium..!!! The pheonix 14k is a nice color, but the radium will give you more blue, or you can try and add some actinic to the 14k, with a smaller tank that size you could use the power brirte LED module/s and it would certainly blue things up some.. The LED should help to bring out some great flourescence in some corals also.. All IMO..

for what its worth, i have a 400 watt radium 20k and at 250 wat 14k aquamaxx and those 2 are about the same color

why don't you buy a Plusrite bulb for $15?

SUnpods use HQI, I dont think plus rite had DE buls

Radiums are also all SE, not DE. I think with 150W, DE your choices are very limited. Sorry I can't help more :(

They make a 150w DE Radium bulb..

Let me check I may have an XM 20K 150W I am not using. A bit far but let me know.
