dmatt56 September 28, 2009 September 28, 2009 Hello Everyone, Does anyone have a quarantine system that they would be will to let me "rent out"? I want to pickup a couple fish, but I'd like to put them through a quarantine tank before introducing them into my softy tank. By "rent out" I meant letting me place my new fish in your quarantine tank (at your house) for a week or so. I can supply the food, supplies, and money for your time. I'm in Odenton, MD. Thanks, Matt
lanman September 28, 2009 September 28, 2009 Too bad you're so far away... I have a 50-gallon stock tank set up as a separate system right now, with nothing but corals and rocks in it. bob

dmatt56 January 10, 2010 Author January 10, 2010 Does anyone worry about quarantining invertibrates? I plan to pickup some snails and hermits. Thanks, Matt
davelin315 January 17, 2010 January 17, 2010 You should, I've gotten some pyramid snails in my system due to them hitching in on some rock or a snail.
Coral Hind January 17, 2010 January 17, 2010 I guess everything we add to our tanks can have hitchhikers on them. I have never done any QT on hermits but I do visual inspect the algae snails for the pyramidellid snails that Dave mentioned. I think buying local and visually inspecting the tank is a big step in making sure the livestock is clean.
bluefunelement January 17, 2010 January 17, 2010 Ive got a 5g QT still running in Annapolis but that's probably small for you? If you want to QT properly though you're looking at up to 4-8weeks
