I have that same fan blowing over my tank. Before I did, my tank would swing as high as 83 or 84. Since I put the fan on, Tank has stayed at 79. Got mine at Target for the same price. Best part is if it corrodes or breaks, you can just buy another one.

this is cool buddy!! i have to look 2 for me too. thank you alot bro.

my humidity levels are very high with passive cooling. i may replace my broken chiller. if you can run fans without excessive moisture its great. i have 400 watt bulbs over mine and its at 81 but the floor is always wet from humidity.

Had same issue in my basement. 70%+ humidity. Just went out and bought a dehumidifier and it's at a constant 50% now.

Fans are lifesavers. I have fans on all of my tanks. Keeps the temps between 78-80.

I have a 46g with ~600w of lighting on it, so it can get hot. To cool it I have a large 12v computer case fan blowing over the surface, and decent ventilation, and good surface agitation from a large power filter. I also run my light cycle starting at 6pm and into the night (since that's when I'm there). My temps peak at around 81. It also helps to run the AC of course :]
