We are aware that there have been some delays in the past few months getting membership cards out and turning on forum access to members area. Please be patient with us while we work to find a solution to speed up the process. I know you would like instant satisfactions but we are a volunteer group and everyone who helps run the club gets paid $0. As head of the club, you can place the blame for the delays on me as it's my job to make sure things are running.

 

I appreciate every person who donates their time to help run the club. I have been helping out in running this club in one form or another since early 2001 back when we had 40 paid members. We now have well over 500 paid members and getting cards out to members is no small task as it once was when I did it back in the early days. However, since privacy issues are involved with your personal information on the member list, I'm not going to randomly farm out the process of sending member cards to some new volunteer that I don't know or trust because I want to protect your personal information. Thus, your cads will be sent to you as quick as the team can process all the applications.

 

As a quick temporary fix, we will be contacting all of our sponsoring local fish stores and asking them to accept your paypal receipt as proof of membership while you await your membership card.

 

Thanks for working with us on this issue and your understanding that we will take care of your request & needs as soon as we can.

I became a member last week and had no trouble using the paypal receipt as proof of membership at a few of the vendors already!

 

Although I am a new member, it is already apparent to me this organization maintains a high focus on ethics and professionalism.

Hey everyone, in an effort to get our ducks in a row, if you have become a member and did not receive a card, please PM James Nguyen (jnguyen4007), our treasurer, with the following information:

 

1. Full Name

2. Login information

3. Address

4. Phone #

5. Email address

 

Although this is all required information to sign up, many people do not update this information. Once James verifies that you are in fact paid up I will send a card out to the address you provided.

 

If you do not provide this information I will not be able to send you a card!

I think the fastest remedy for you would be to get rid of the BB in front of your member status ;)

Not 100% sure what that means exactly, but I'm a paying WAMAS member, membership is good until 9/14/2010 according to my membership card.

Neilan, you have a duplicate record in the system (going back to last September), just as spanky did. One of those records is expired and that's what's at the root of your problem. I'll fix it now.

 

Can you please PM me your current address and phone number, so I can make sure that the database is accurate? Thanks.

FYI, you should now PM origami2547 your information if you are in need. You can also still PM any of the other officers, but Tom has been appointed as Membership Director until the next election in which he's running unopposed so will continue to do the excellent job he has been doing.

Trying to rejoin Wamas for the last 2 days and I am getting all kinds of error messages The latest error message read "need your address info in your profile" My profile still has up to date info. Getting frustrated. Is there a phone number I can call and just get it done over the phone or what's the next step? Thanks

Folks, we're working through the transition to this new version of the board. We'll get it worked out. Until we do, please follow these instructions if you're having difficulty re-registering:

 

Please PM me your full name, address, phone number, email address and forum screen name (e.g. mine is Origami247). Please title the message, "Joining WAMAS" if you're just joining WAMAS as a member the first time, or "Renewing WAMAS" if you're a renewing member.

 

Then, PayPal your renewal fee ($20 for an individual membership, $35 for family) directly to treasurer@wamas.org. If your payment is coming from an email account other than what you're naming, please send me your PayPal email address so I'm able to match the payment to the forum registration. Once I've received notice that payment has been received and have the other requested information, I'll process the membership and get your membership card out in the mail.
