new tank? less than 6mos?

Nope, not an old tank though....bout 12 months. Right now I have PC but will be going to T5 soon. I didn't know if they needed a different spectrum of light or it might just be my bad luck. Unfortunately bad luck seems to have expensive taste lol.

Your lights play a major role in growing any type zoa. IMO I think once you get your T-5 system online things will perck up some, but then the blue zoas are extremly slow growers. Also check and see how old your PC bulbs are in some cases if there over 6 months old it is time to toss those things in the trash.

Yea I've actually doubled my colony of tubbs blues under T5s in about a month and a half.

Ok, I guess I'll hold off on more zoas until I get some new lights. Thanks for all the replies!

And yes, my parameters seem stable. I don't have probes yet so I have to rely on kits...which I have my doubts about. Too much room for user error and not enough of them come with reference tests.

If you use hi-quality lab grade kits like LaMotte, Hach, or TropicMarin, you'll be fine.
