zygote2k January 28, 2009 January 28, 2009 Just picked up a free chiller. It's supposed to be 1/4 or a 1/3 hp and it works just fine, but there is not a brand name on it. Here are a few pictures- Can anyone tell me what it is? It looks like it was made 11/3/2...

Grav January 28, 2009 January 28, 2009 Agreed, I just threw one of them away did you trash pick that? LOL According to the lables it looks like a capeland asperia made in Slovakia. My wife is Slovak, and her family actually got into town today. My brother in law is a refridgeration repairman, and he tells me that there are massive problems happening right now. I guess it is because of their calander being off from ours... and the dates are re-setting to 1909 (they have an antiquated former USSR binary system that delayed the Y2K problem 9 years, which was fine back then but causing problem now.) Fridges and air conditioning units are shutting down all over the country since Jan 1. He has had so much work Okay I made that all up, but my wife really is Slovak and her family really is in town.
zygote2k January 28, 2009 Author January 28, 2009 Ok- I've narrowed it down to a 1/4 hp Custom Sea Life Chiller from 2002. This thing was working just fine on a 110 reef tank. The owner was evicted and I got to claim some of the stuff including the chiller. It's ugly, and relatively quiet, but most of all, it was free.
