Smoothtriqueter January 14, 2009 January 14, 2009 I was just wondering if anyone has ordered any livestock (I was thinking fish but anything will do) from liveaquaria.com? I have been skeptical to order fish and have them shipped but thought I might try.
YBeNormal January 14, 2009 January 14, 2009 If you are going to order fish online, that would be the best place to buy from. Their guarantee and customer service is outstanding.
jnguyen4007 January 14, 2009 January 14, 2009 I ordered from them in the past. Had couple of fish died a few days later. Called them up and told them what happen, they offered either to refund the money, get a replacement, or get something different. Very easy folks to work with.
Coral Hind January 14, 2009 January 14, 2009 I prefer not to order any livestock this time of the year because of the extreme temps. Even with well packed boxes I have had stuff arrive in very cold water.

Their SPS pieces are pretty big!
steveoutlaw January 14, 2009 January 14, 2009 I prefer to get all of my livestock from local stores like BRK. That way I know the fish has been properly quarantined, I can actually see the specimen I'm getting, and they will always drop food in the tank to ensure that the fish is eating. John and crew are also very good at trying to find items that they don't have in stock.
treesprite January 14, 2009 January 14, 2009 There are pros and cons to getting fish shipped sight unseen beforehand, and it's relative to the buyer's situation. Either way, this isn't the best time of year to have livestock shipped.

quazi January 14, 2009 January 14, 2009 I have found the problems out weight the benefits. Go with a LFS. We are currently blessed with many great LFSs in the area. If we patronize them, we may have a at least a few in the future.
Smoothtriqueter January 14, 2009 Author January 14, 2009 Thank you all for the quick replies. I agree with the temp and will hold of on any livestock ordering. I am a big LFS supporter, I live in College Park (PG) MD and I make weekly hour+ long trips out to Mr. Coral, Aquaco, and have made it out the BRK (right before move) Closer to me I support Aquarium 1, Tropical Lagoon, and Scales. The only other place I have gotten anything is off of WAMAS. As it were I am reaching the point where I will only be adding 1 maybe 2 more fish and want to be picky. Other reason is that the fish I am looking for I have been quoted more than twice what I have been able to find them for on the net at LFS. My roommate just recently started a cichlid tank and wants to do a bunch of plants so he was going to tag along on an order. I also agree with the QT, I know a few of the stores on my list do while others don't so I now have my own to be safe anyway so not the biggest issue. Glad to hear liveaquaria is good should I decide to purchase something in the future!
