jnguyen4007 January 5, 2009 January 5, 2009 I've never used an RS 80 skimmer before and it looks like I need to put it to use today. I know that skimmer is to be used in the sump. Here's my question: The one pump that comes with it. does that same pump is used to pull water into the skimmer and break the water into fine bubble? Or do I need to buy another pump to pull the water in?
Origami January 5, 2009 January 5, 2009 James, the RS series of skimmers do not appear to be recirculating and do not require a feed pump according to the Euroreef manual (available online). It is, I believe, a venturi driven skimmer with a needlewheel impeller used to break up the air into smaller bubbles.
SeanCallan January 5, 2009 January 5, 2009 Just put it into the sump and fire her up! Just make sure you have the skimmer in the suggested amount of water, I know some of them are picky about it.
