Went downstairs this morning... dead Midas Blenny. No wounds or stings I could tell... he was still one piece, stiff as a board... all other fish are fine and the corals look happy. I did a water change yesterday and added some zoanthids...

The only things I can think are:

1. Old age.

2. I starved him by cutting back on feedings.

I hope I didn't starve him.

Anyone have this happen before... I had that fish for over a year!

Could have been old age, could have choked on something, if there are any markings on the body it may have been stung by something.

Did he look thin above his eyes or back? My midas blenny got thin for the first few months until I really ramped up the feeding- 3 times per day. Then he fattened up and has looked great ever since. I think they need to eat often, like anthias.

Don't you hate how it's always your favorite fish that drops dead for no reason, and everything else lives forever?

I still have a blue chromis from Petco that I put in when I was cycling my tank 2 tanks ago (5+ years)!

I think that fish would survive a nuclear holocaust.

Sorry to hear. We just lost a gorgeous yellow tang, have no idea why. All other fish are fine...........

Strange... he may have choked... or old age... what is the life expectancy of fish anyway?

He did not look skinny before or after he died... with the exception of his belly which looked really thin when he was dead...
