Larry Grenier December 12, 2008 December 12, 2008 (edited) Still planning what will go in my new sytem once the floor is finished. Right now I have the following in my holding tank that will move to the 96gal: 1 small yello tang, 3 green chromis, 1 little goby, 1 cleaner shrimp, & 2 pepperment shrimp. I plan on adding: 3 more green chromis, 2 firefish, another cleaner shrimp, 1 royal gramma or blackcap basslet, 1 tbd blenny, & maybe some kind of wrasse. I'd like to add 1 or 2 other larger fish and I'm thinking about the following: 1 dwarf angelfish(Bicolor, Coral Beauty, Flame, Flameback, Rusty), 1 more tangs(Powder Blue, Powder Brown, Kole, Convict), 1 or more anthias, 1 black & white Heniochus. What recommendations would you make among my choices or others not listed for the 1 or 2 other larger fish? Thanks Edited December 12, 2008 by Larry Grenier
jamal December 12, 2008 December 12, 2008 if you plan to keep corals than you might want to rethink the angels. most tangs are gonna get too big for the 96 gal. as an anthias fan i will recommend a bimaculatus anthias. maybe a pair
Gatortailale December 12, 2008 December 12, 2008 angels - I would get 2 - Coral Beauty & Flame, 1 more tangs - I would go with one of the powder - avoid hippo/regal anthias - get 3 Sqammipinnis (Females) as my personal experience is they are hardy and one of the 3 will morph to a male over time (unless you find a supermale at a lfs which has nice colors).
Larry Grenier December 12, 2008 Author December 12, 2008 Thanks Jamal - I'm aware of the problems with angels in reefs but I read alot of the dwarfs doing well. Thanks Craig - I'm thinking similar
vaironman December 12, 2008 December 12, 2008 +1 for flame, coral beauty angels. I would also suggest with addition of juvenile majestic angel, introduce after the dwarf angels list above.
Larry Grenier December 12, 2008 Author December 12, 2008 (edited) Cool fish varionman - read mixed reults with LPS & softies once it's an adult. Easy decision though... $$$ Edited December 15, 2008 by Larry Grenier
jason the filter freak December 12, 2008 December 12, 2008 Won't two dwarf angels fight in a single tank
Gatortailale December 12, 2008 December 12, 2008 I've had my majestic since Dec. 2003. Way cool fish. No issues with sps, so lps, or my squamosa. May have picked at zoa's, but I only had a few in the tank + could of been idol that ate my zoas as the idol also ate my leathers. I've kept potters and flame together in past - they did well for 5 years in my old 125.
