What is your experience with SCWD? They don't seem last long at all.

Mines I think 5 years old and still kicking along, the big thing is to keep sand out of them. If you have a broken one you don't want give it to me . I'll robo it.

I have two and both stop working a little over an year. Water only comes out on one side now.

let it sit in some vinegar they get kinda crusty on the inside and they stop working freely. if you can let it sit in a deep enough solution put a small powerhead on the inlet and run the solution through after the soak...that should free it up.

If the vinegar doesn't doe the trick, talk to ybenormal and let him soak it in some muramic acid. He put a small piece of LR into some of that acid and a minute later there was nothing left. If there are some calcium deposits inside the SQWD, that stuff will surely get rid of it. I know you're supposed to dilute it, but not really sure of the mixture. I'd find out from ctenophore or ybenormal.
