Looking for LFS's in DC area

Guest Tomoko Schum

Greetings!

I am hoping that some of you can help me find good coral/salt water shops in Washington DC area.  I will be vising my parents-in-law in Arlington VA for a week. (Mar.22 to Mar.28)  I would not mind travelling for an hour or so for a good shop to find some nice corals.

My favorites in Virginia:

The Reef Tank in Fairfax off Guinea road near braddock road.  (703) 978-1700.

The Marine Scene located at the intersection of the Dulles toll road and Fairfax County Parkway at 293 Sunset Park Dr. in Herndon. (703) 689-2815

Unlike popular word by some, for fish you are better off going to Roozen's Nursery. I believe the number and address is in the links section of the web site. Their fish are autoclaved, but they do have a tremendous variety and prices are somewhat fair. Not extremely cheap as some people would say. Also, don't be distracted by the not so high tech and boutique appearance of the place.

We often forget to reference our own website in the forums...

Check out WAMAS Links for more information.  Near the bottom are links to the LFS's in the area.  Lots of other good stuff there as well.

2 not listed there, but over on the MD side (well within the driving range you are talking about) are

Coral Connection in Rockville and Exotic Aquatics up near Baltimore.

Hit the search button up above and you should be able to find the addresses for them.  Coral Connection I'm not sure how it is listed in the phone book.

Hope you enjoy the area.  Have you considered visiting the National Aquarium in Baltimore?  It is quite spectacular.
