Amuze July 20, 2008 July 20, 2008 Can a Desjardinii tang be kept with a Yellow tang or are these two fish incompatible with one another?
jamal July 20, 2008 July 20, 2008 they are of the same species so aggression would be even higher. also the desjardini tang gets huge. way larger than the yellow tang. i wouldnt recommend it
Amuze July 21, 2008 Author July 21, 2008 Ah I see. That's what I was thinking bout the aggression. My Yellow is pretty huge and a bit of a bully too.
F&Fmgr July 21, 2008 July 21, 2008 generally speaking, tangs of the same genus...i.e: zebrasoma(yellow and sailfin), acanthurus (achilles & pbt), shouldn't be housed together...if your going to have multiple tangs make sure the tank size is appropriate and add them at the same time Sean

I find QTing them and adding to the display at the same time usually works great.

Amuze July 21, 2008 Author July 21, 2008 (edited) I agree, I do this when I get home from work so my Wife know who is boss. Sorry, it just popped into my brain. Lol. I do the same thing. Only the girlfriend calls it "making a mess". *Pfft* Yes, I know how to acclimate a tang and such. Also I have already rearranged rocks to make new homes. Both tangs I have went into the tank at the same time. I don't have two Sailfin's (only 1 yellow). I was only inquiring about them. I have a yellow and a "scalpel sawtail" tang(?). The yellow might have to go if they don't "work it out" in the next couple of days. I am thinking of trading the larger yellow tang for a smaller desjardini tang... :( Edited July 21, 2008 by audible
