FishWife April 11, 2008 April 11, 2008 All my LFSs are out of epoxy, and we have some zoas to place this weekend. Isn't there a brand that works at Home Depot? (Did a search but can't find it; thanks!)
jason the filter freak April 11, 2008 April 11, 2008 aqua mand and it can't be fount at be found at one of the two majorr stores i think home depot do a search on aqua mend it should be in the plumming section right near pvc cement
ReeferMan April 11, 2008 April 11, 2008 Does Aqua mend work better than the Oatley that Lowes carries? It never seems to stick well
ErikS April 11, 2008 April 11, 2008 Does Aqua mend work better than the Oatley that Lowes carries? It never seems to stick well Not really, I wouldn't give much "sticking" ability. Generally I use it as a "holder" - plug a bit into a hole & then put frag/rock into that = it works.

Are any of these brands similiar/worse/better than what is offered by vendors/catalogs in the aquarium trade?
FishWife April 11, 2008 Author April 11, 2008 Chris, In our LIMITED experience, no. Like Erik, we just use it to stabilize frags. Thanks, all!

I have not used any of the higher end stuff (D&D) - all the other stuff I've used has been the same. Not really sticky, just mold it & hold things in place. Here's an example, it's not holding the frag in place - it's simply holding the plug, keeping it from being knocked around. Edited April 11, 2008 by ErikS

I'd skip the D&D stuff btw. I bought some from premium aquatics just to try it out. It's very chalky and breaks apart in the water when it sets. I"m going to stick with the aquastik stuff and just tone the skimmer down to deal with the excess foaming. Edited April 12, 2008 by kevinlo
