NAGA February 24, 2008 February 24, 2008 This is a new toy I'm playin' with. Runs off a Sequence Reeflo pump w/ a Alita airpump assist. Skimmer is 68" tall 27" diameter tube 20" diameter collection cup will have a 8"diameter 1ft. long final riser Problem I am having is moving it around. tube is 1" thick wall and weighs a ton. This is going on a 2000gallon system. 3 others are in the works and you will see them at Exotic Aquatics shortly. These pics are of the earlier phases of construction. It is just about finished but, have some minor tweaking to do. Anyway...........one big motha

ctenophore February 24, 2008 February 24, 2008 Jeff, A few tips on tuning the Dart NW: You're better off putting a gate valve before the venturi. You can regulate the input water to air ratio better that way, and eliminate the need for the Alita. I know it seems like the Alita gives more air which seems better, but when we were testing these back in the NW design stage, we found that removing the alita and adding the gatevalve allowed finer bubbles to be produced, even if it was a little less air. Skimmate production increased, along with consistency in foam levels (i.e., less overflows) Are you going to have 68" of head pressure above the venturi, or is that overall skimmer height? If you have more than 48" head pressure, you might try a Hammerhead rather than a Dart. See my 550 build thread for details. You can get one from Chris @ reeflo. He has the first production run available now. PM me if you want to talk about any other tuning specifics. Those are going to be beautiful pieces of equipment, so better to make them run as well as they look Justin
