Hi everyone, I'm RobCropper from Hampton Roads Reef Club down in Virginia Beach, VA. We were talking with a few other reef clubs in the region about an upcoming event we are trying to get together and were wondering if you guys would be interested in participating? This is still in the planning stages, but we would like to get things rolling so it will be ready to go early Spring. We are still finding the location, probably midway between DC and Va Beach. We were thinking of getting a medium convention type space for the event. Hoping it will have a huge turnout. For the event itself we were thinking rows of tables so people can setup small frag stations for trade or sale. We would also like to maybe have a speaker, (just an idea). Lemme know what you guys think about this idea, and hopefully we can all get together and have some serious fun.

Thanks guys, I will look into the convention center. If we can get this together, its gonna be such a blast. I will update this regularly with progress of planning. Also I encourage all input and suggestions on what you think would make this event the best experience it can be.

Thanks

Rob

How are you going to show the what the corals look like open? Like are you going to have tanks, or do you take pictures and accompany them with the corals and will it be members only or open to the general public for a fee... Just curious I go to alot of reptile conventions and they are a blast, but corals are diffrent in that they need a little tlc to open! Anyway I am still excited!

Using long shallow clear plastic rubbermaids with power heads and a diy lighting frame to hold a light. (PVC or Wood) The picture idea is great too. As for private or public, It will be public but I am almost certain there will be some sort of entrance fee set to cover the cost of renting the Venue, Equipment rentals, and so forth. I will keep you all informed when things start coming together.

We have folks se-up 10 & 20 gallon tanks at the WAMAS events and the corals look surprisingly vibrant after jus being moved.

This is a great idea, excellent opportunity to have a HUGE meeting. It would be nice for the local LFS to have a booths as well and for them to sell their corals (with special event discount.) Imagine WAMAS, CMAS, HRRC and other local clubs in one place.

Hey CHIP this is the best opportunity to cut the pagoda!!!
