Dosing Question

i just received my two part in the mail today and after making it all up I couldn't figure out where to add it? If I put it in the sump, will it go in the skimmer and ger skimmed out? Should I put it directly in the tank or in the sump where the skimmer is?

Generally a high flow area is best. When I'm lazy (much too often), I just dump it close to the submerged return pump. I'm sure this does wonders for my pump. When I'm being responsible I dump it if front of a modded maxi-jet which disperses it fairly quickly. Reason being to avoid any localized ph spikes.

Add each component at least 30 min separately otherwise they may precipitate.

A great place to add is in your overflow. By the time it gets to the sump it is diluted and mixed well before it gets to the tank. Also you can add second or third part in sequence because of dilution.

That's what I do, although mine is only a K1. I need to start dosing it in front of the other K1 though, because the one pump stays on when I feed and I pour food in front of it. Sooooo, when I dose, all the fish come up and swim around in it, thinking it must be dinner time! LOL

I have a Spectrapure LiterMeter III connected to two one-gallon containers. The controller doses each into the return section of my sump. High flow and the different calibrated flow rates/times for the pumps result in the addition of each part at different times.
