There are bristleworms attracted to the food I'm giving my new BTA. Is this a concern? Should I get a fish that eats bristleworms? I know they are prolific and that all rocks have 'em, so they must be in the ocean, but in closed systms, are they a concern?

They come running any time I put food in the tank. (I use frozen) I've never seen them actually get on my anem though. Them being desireable / pests is a debate. I've never seen them do anything bad in my tank, but . . .

depends on how many you have.... you want enough to be a benefit and not so many that you see them crawling everywhere

Fishwife,

BTA's will take cae of themselves.. If you have one now, you''ll have 4 before you know it! (if you H2O is ok).

Giove your tank time to do its thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As someone said - a few is good, a TON is bad. They will multiply rapidly if you overfeed your tank, but otherwise they are just good eaters of extra food in your tank.

bob

Bristleworms and BTA

Kinda sounds like a bag of treats you might have with a soda.

tequila would probably be better....therefore the bristles wont hurt as much going down!
