ReeferMan March 8, 2007 March 8, 2007 Well i ran carbon and didnt acclimate my lights right and one of my SPS colonies is bleaching from the top up very slowly. It hasnt stopped so i need to cut the bottom off but its way too thick. Anyone have one i can borrow for the night?
ReeferMan March 8, 2007 Author March 8, 2007 in case someone is weary to loan me theirs, I know how to use one and have used one before.
jwildman March 8, 2007 March 8, 2007 HD has a cheapo for $88. Anyone tried that model? Sorry did not mean to divert/hijack thread I have one, but I don't think you would want to make the drive.
ReeferMan March 8, 2007 Author March 8, 2007 yeah your alittle far Scott but thanks for the offer. I should of said anyone close to Tysons or Gainesville
madmax7774 March 8, 2007 March 8, 2007 I have an old one, but it still works. I am in centreville, which is maybe 10 miles away. ( I traded you the UV sterilizer the other day...) You are welcome to borrow it anytime. John
ReeferMan March 8, 2007 Author March 8, 2007 it would take a long time and alot of bits to cut the base off. We are talking 4 inches wide by 2 inches thick.
rocko918 March 8, 2007 March 8, 2007 diamond wheel will cut it like butter. go around the base then take a screw driver and break it off. take you 5 mins to do that.
rocko918 March 8, 2007 March 8, 2007 (edited) the diamond? Heck yeah. much better. 15 bucks at HD, you can get a ton of them at harbor frieght for alot less. Edited March 8, 2007 by rocko918
rooroo March 8, 2007 March 8, 2007 phisigs, Check a local tool rental store. Shouldn't cost you more than $20 to rent a good quality one and it should come with a new blade (or wheel, whatever they call them). Check with Capital Rentals (capitalrentals.com).
rocko918 March 8, 2007 March 8, 2007 harbor frieght LOCAL? yes one in woodbridge i think. check their site.
Tom C. March 8, 2007 March 8, 2007 Once again, I have to bail Chris out. I have a Dremel with a diamond tip. I think it will take about 2 minutes to cut through whatever you want. It might cost you though...
Grav March 9, 2007 March 9, 2007 Dremmel with dimond good, another way to go is heavy duty tin snips.
ReeferMan March 9, 2007 Author March 9, 2007 ok so i did the tile saw route and it took me maybe 5 min to do all the cuts. Only down side to cutting the base is there isnt alot of flexibility with the tile cutter. I have some nice big frags and two colonies now. the bleached part was a pain to get off completely. Now i need some iodine to dip them in.
