Well i ran carbon and didnt acclimate my lights right and one of my SPS colonies is bleaching from the top up very slowly. It hasnt stopped so i need to cut the bottom off but its way too thick. Anyone have one i can borrow for the night?

HD has a cheapo for $88. Anyone tried that model? Sorry did not mean to divert/hijack thread

I have one, but I don't think you would want to make the drive.

I have an old one, but it still works. I am in centreville, which is maybe 10 miles away. ( I traded you the UV sterilizer the other day...)

You are welcome to borrow it anytime.

John

diamond wheel will cut it like butter. go around the base then take a screw driver and break it off. take you 5 mins to do that.

the diamond? Heck yeah. much better. 15 bucks at HD, you can get a ton of them at harbor frieght for alot less.

phisigs,

Check a local tool rental store. Shouldn't cost you more than $20 to rent a good quality one and it should come with a new blade (or wheel, whatever they call them). Check with Capital Rentals (capitalrentals.com).

Once again, I have to bail Chris out. I have a Dremel with a diamond tip. I think it will take about 2 minutes to cut through whatever you want. It might cost you though...

ok so i did the tile saw route and it took me maybe 5 min to do all the cuts. Only down side to cutting the base is there isnt alot of flexibility with the tile cutter. I have some nice big frags and two colonies now. the bleached part was a pain to get off completely. Now i need some iodine to dip them in.
