Kalk Reactor

I am interesting in another get together for the kalk reactor, since I miss it last time, anyone else interesting?  We can ask Chip to help us out. Their design seem to work very well.

Thanks

how much money did the last reactor cost?   out of curiousity  :D

Was under $70 ea. for the 17 units.

Not sure if Chief WantamakaKalcReactor is up for coming out of retirement, but we should be able to get you guys the blueprints to do it.

And I can attest it does work great.. The new growth on my corals is amazing. I can help you guys any way you would like. I think the biggest problem we faced was getting the 6" tube cut.

There are no kits left over, but there were requests from about 6 people that wanted in at the end there... shouldn't be much trouble getting 10 or so interested in the project.

Getting the 6 inch tube cut was the hard part for sure. I would think that with a good table saw (I got a cheap one) and the right J I G you could make it work.

Also a tricky part was cutting the holes for the screws in the lid. Luckily we had one of our team members who could lazer cut these holes & the gasket to match exactly no matter which way you try to line it up.

I was interested the first time around but business kept me away from keeping track of the party.  I am still interested, so please count me in and even do I may not respond for few days (out of town work, out of touch) I am still interested and williing to participate.

I can't really spare time until after xmas. I'm a florist and this is a really busy, long hours time of year for us until xmas eve.

Don't forget to send everyone you know flowers instead of anything else. :D

I'm going to look harder at the Calcium reactor thread for a link to the one they are planning while I'm in OH and may want to finnish the one I already started.

We had a great time making the kalk reactors so maybe after the holidays we can carve out some time.

On another note:

I was tinkering around with some 2.75" tube I found floating around and ended up with a neat flow thru phosphate/carbon reactor for my sump baffles. Gotta love that scrap!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
