keeping mag 24 quiet

Hi guys,

 

I have a friend who has mag 24 as his return and he doesn't like the noise it's making. Any ideas as to keeping the noise level down? Surprisingly the mag 24 did not come with foam pad that other mags come with.

flex tubing and a plain neoprene mouse pad or two should do the trick. the flex is just as important. hard pvc picks up a lot of vibration.

I would try a filter pad or some type of filter media/foam. it would be safe to put in a sump.

Bubble wrap with zip ties also works great. Best is to use flex tubing cut short enough so that the pump stays about 2" or so off the bottom and not contacting any of the sides.

Aaaah Rascal took my idea, Actually saw Khan Bendalat do it first I believe. He wrapped his pumps with bubble wrap and they floated in his sump...too cool!!!
