    might outgrow 135 gallon tank
  3. Is there a deadline we have to get the money to Waikiki by?
  4. Steve, I can help. Thomas and I moved our 135gallon from Denver. But I require beer for any moving adventures I'm not a big burly guy but I've got hands- unfortunately Thomas has to work thus is the life of a chef, people want their brunch and they want it now. We also have a Pacifica (the back end holds our stand or tank but not both at once). Maybe we could put the tank & stand in the van and move rock in other vehicles? So if you want I can help. Jenny
  5. Thank you all for having us in your home. And thank you Chip for the door prize and Bob and Tamie for the frags!
  6. No doubt our 135 is too small. Just curious about it and wondered how well people faired. I was seeing folks on reef central who had them in 55gallons. I though that explains why they are so aggressive. But sometimes I wonder about reef central. Sometimes I think people just make things up. But you never know do ya? Thanks for the input
  7. How were they? Would you get another pair if you had the opportunity?
  8. Hi! So lately I have way too much time on my hands at work. So how do I fill that spare time? I research things about fish, corals, inverts. You know the routine (don't act like you don't do the same thing I read the are you addicted poll ). In my searching I've been reading a lot more about people keeping triggers in reef tanks. I've had it in my head from the beginning that triggers are not reef same. But according to many people it appears that some may be especially the pink tail triggers. What I've read so far from reef forums says they will munch on your clean up crew but leave the rest alone. Sites selling the pink tails say they cannot be housed with smaller fishes or urchins. Has anyone housed a trigger in their reef tank before? How did that work out for you? Would you do it again? jenny
  9. Yeah except it has 4 valves across the top instead of 2. I was hoping I could get it locally. I found one at this place Cordis Fish and Pet Supply in Manassas but I need one more. Edit: Did you edit the thread or am I seeing things?
  10. Does anyone know where to get a brass gang valve? To split the air from an air pump into multiple containers? Thanks! jenny
  11. If the green mandarin is female we'll take her. We'll pick her up with the Eibl's. Jenny
  12. I'm surprised Marine Scene didn't come to the rescue. I thought they also did tank setups maintenance etc. Maybe not on the weekends. Or maybe there fish only on Tuesday rule is that strict. Anyway good job.
  13. Way to go guys! Good thing he knew about/found about WAMAS in time to have some survivors. If you are redistributing we would love some live rock. Jenny
  14. I would love to come and see your tanks. Please send directions. Jenny I would also like to take photos if that's possible so I can show Thomas. Thanks
  15. Naga, Gorgeous!! How big is your tank? How much of the combovital do you add? How often? "it's only a part of what's going on in the tank" Do you target feed any of the corals with meaty foods? Or just feed the tank? Or do you mean with the maintenance and maintaining parameters?
  16. I have used it since December. It hasn't seemed to effect any of my parameters. I don't think the corals become dependent. We aren't the best about dosing at the same time every time. I haven't seen any change in colors or anything if I miss a dosing. I also don't see any change in parameters if I miss a dose. I think it just mainly helps get things started faster then the corals feed off what you normally feed them. I know that's pretty vague so it probably doesn't help but its all I got.
  17. I use the combo vital. Twice a week 6 teaspoons. It brings out lots of cool stuff from your live rock. We got all kinds of corals and things.
  18. Is it possible (more like a good idea) for me to feed only live feed? I would be feeding phyto, pods, brine, and rotifers. I know I would still need to put the vitamiin enriched nori but... do I need other vitamins? I want to make sure everybody is getting a properly balanced diet. Currently tank has: 1 yellow tang, 2 jawfish, 2 watchmen, 1 lawnmover blenny, 1 mandarin, 1 coral beauty, 1 firefish goby, 9 green chromis, 1 long spined urchin, 2 flame scallops, 1 cleaner shrimp, ridge hammer coral, torch coral, xenia, bali slimer, plate coral, toadstool, green star polyps, yellow polyps, various mushrooms, various zoos, Thats it for fish but we will be getting lots more corals and inverts. Thanks for any input you may have!
  19. Larry, I have some from that I got from Home Depot that have 6 timing options. 3 on, 3 off. Have you checked there already? Mine are digital programming and cost $10.
  20. Fabulous! Anybody else have links to reading material for me.
  21. One more thing. Do I need to buy these microalgae disks to produce phyto or can I use the DT's in my fridge?
