  1. Seen it happen. My pump came loose from the collection container, and all the foam filled the sump pump. WOW.. their story is sad.
  2. Howard I tried but I keep getting blurie images. It is best if you come and see it in person. LMK Jacob
  3. update. Sleeper, you are on the list. It may take few month before the first frags start coming out, but will keep everyone posted.
  4. it is a matter of opinions. you do not need the actinics for growth, but they do assist on the dust & dawn cycle, providing the blue color of the skies. others will say, yes it is necessary.. but again it is a matter of opinions. The tank do looks nicer when the MH are off and the Actinic are on, gives you the sense of serenity when daylight life is about to go to sleep or wake up....
  5. in a new established tank you should see some after the first eight month... average time frame
  6. congratulations, that is a nice looking healthy piece
  7. Is the colony you got as big as the one in the picture? Where you bought it from?
  8. thanks guys... yeap... somehow these babies grow quick in my tank. I will let everyone know when they are ready. Just need to keep this list handy... you know cause at my age.... we tend to forget Here is the list in ascending order based on request. $35 each per frag (Size TBD) 1. Doug - Dbarco 2. Howard 3. Emissary 4. Rik - Leishman 5. Adrienne - Sugar Magnolia 6. Jamal 7. Chris - 143Gadgets 8. Bob - Lanman 9. Chirs - Rio Reef 10. Rascal 11. Sleeper
  9. Ok, then $35 per frag times 5 = $175.. darn!! still does not pay for what I bought it for... I will let you know when it comes time to frag guys... you are on record.
  10. Ok here are the possible SPS acroporas that may match this specie, and exhibit the same polyp pattern formation. It may be one of the following, and it may not be... I am using the following web site for comparison; http://www.meerwasser-lexikon.de/eng/95/0/...orals%20SPS.htm Batunai Echinata Graulosa Navini Plana Sarmentosa Tortuosa Turaki
  11. Thanks Rik, I went to that web site and that's what prompted this post. There are so many other Acro SPS that look much more than this rather than the Jacquelineae SPS. I put a list together and sent it to few WAMAS to compare, but I forgot to keep a copy of it. I will do a new research and post again with possible options.
  12. thanks for the input. I have mine about 1/3 off the surface under 250W MH 10K USHIO, and I can see polyps extended. I keep it there next to the ORA Blue Tort I got from BRK few month ago for comparison on behavior and feeding schedules.
  13. I look all over the internet for reference and information, but can't get an exact match of a comparable picture. I want to know the flow requirements, habits, feeding likes and so forth. Anyone out there in WAMAS has something similar ? Story behind the coral; Ok, I go into BRK (three weeks ago) and see this beautiful coral standing on the edge of an egg crate. I ask Johnny, what type of coral is that.. and he say. "It is a Jacquelineae SPS coral, and is not cheap". I love it so I brought it home and took two pictures, here they are. By the way, I am no photographer so what the camera did is what picture I got, no tricks or alterations on this picture. The first picture is without a flash, the second I used a flash. Thanks in advance.

  16. Nice looking Dave, keep up the good work...
  17. All inclusive and under 5K .... this sounds like one of those ORBIT commercial.. now seiorusly, try Turk and Caicos... good food, good snorkling, relax and pretty, all inclusive and affordable. or you can also check Atlantis in Bahamas... a little pricy but lots of stuff to do in the resort without the need to head out of town
  18. St. Johns Virgin Island http://www.virginislandsmap.com/ Bahamas / Nassau or Paradise Island http://www.bahamasgo.com/diving.htm Belize http://www.scubadivingbelize.com/ also, check this out http://stjohnlinks.com/ sorry, I did not ment to omit Cozumel, Playa Carmen, Mallas beach, and other exquisite places in Mexico, there are some nice places there too, I just have not been there yet. On another note, my favorite places are Puerto Rico and Grand Cayman, but they are both expensive, although interesting and full of night life.
  19. Johnny at BRK has a great deal in cleaner crews also F&F may be able to help you out
  20. Dave once in a while WAMAS members put group buys together on mysis shrimps, cyclopeez and other frozen foods. You may want to wait a little and see if this happens again, it usually does once or twice a year. Or, you can visit BRK and F&F, they both have these frozen foods ready available at reasonable prices.
  21. ebay... well that says it all. there are so many things that could have happen. Let's speculate. 1) the buyer never paid for the item so the seller can re-post and sell it again. 2) the seller had a friend padding the bid, ended up being the highest bidder, so now the seller is stock with the item once again 3) the buyer realize the item is a fluke so he decides to sell it forward, and he posts the item 4) so many other posibilities... oh we can't nam them all.
  22. Connor have your tank gone through the Nitro cycle? or is this your first tank? If it is your first tank., I suggest you pick up a book on saltwater reef keeping or saltwater aquarium keeping. Read a little about cycles, setups, and NTS before you go forward. After that we will be more than glad to help you out with starter frags, softies and lots of expertise.
  23. most wrasses like to burry themselves under the sand bed. If you have sand bed in your display, he more like is there hiding until he feels comftable. The other option will be,, he is already an expensive treat for your inverts... (yea food).
