  1. Any updates on how this coral is doing? Anyone else tried it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Thanks for the help. I do dose all for reef 75 ml per day. I was noticing my montipora seemed to be growing more than normal, guess it soaked up some alkalinity. I have an acan colony melting though :/ I just added AFR over the last couple hours and got my alk up to 7 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. How much does alkalinity effect ph? I’ve gotten lazy in the last couple weeks and haven’t been testing much. Started to notice corals not happy. So I ran thru everything. Alkalinity fell to 6, whoops. If I was running a PH probe would it have shown? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I have one I want to get out of my display. Any ideas or tricks to catching one? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Can’t wait to see this one color up it will be fun putting corals in there Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Can’t read a thing you wrote, it’s all black on gray background Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Yes I definately do. I just couldn’t visualize how or why. The online restrictor makes sense Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Yes the flow coming from the waste and clean lines changes with the valve change. I didn’t know their was a flow restrictor in the yellow line and was trying to wrap my head around what the valve was even doing. Makes sense now, thank you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I set this filter up out of the box and never really put any thought into it. Is this flush valve installed correctly? I just don’t understand how the blue loop redirects the water anywhere? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Good deal, going to give it a shot next filter change Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Good deal, going to give it a shot next filter change Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I was looking at an empty RoDi canister and had the thought of packing it with carbon and floss and using it in place of the typical carbon filter? Anyone have any thoughts or experience doing it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Movement in the camera causing blurriness? Tripod or bracing might help if you can. Or setting causing the blur? Might be camera noise or exceeding the cameras limits. Good thing with cameras is unlike reefing you can try things and see the results immediately. Try doing a shot of the same item with each F stop with no other changes. Then go in and change the ISO one number and do the same test. You can always post process more light in and out a little. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Have you tried higher F’s? It will allow more depth if the photos. Ie where some of the back zoas in a group are out of focus, might help with some of the torches too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I’m having a problem with one of my lines. I prime it and by the next day the line is empty. Any tips? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. You could mix some kalk into a paste and spot treat them both too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I wonder if you have the return pump in the lower display tank baffle / overflow. The water volume and ato could be managed in the lower tanks baffle. You could then run the top “sump” with an overflow box, similar to a traditional tank, in the last chamber. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Yes I am going to try that too. I ordered some nitrate, just waiting another day or two for shipping Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. This started growing recently and I think it’s Dino. I tested at very low nitrates and .23 phos. I turned my skimmer off to try and let the water dirty back up with some nitrates but don’t want my phosphate to get higher. Any suggestions? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I have, I can measure the marks tomorrow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Do you have a laundry sink? I use a five gallon bucket in the sink while I run water. That way if I forget it just goes down the drain. Takes about 40 minutes to run 5 gallons for me. As for getting SW from your brute to a bucket. Just use water you use to remove water from your tank. Only instead of tank to bucket it’s brute to bucket, no need to buy something else. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Ok thanks for the ideas. drilling another hole would be next to impossible with the tank set up.
  23. Is there a way to use a level sensor on my tank that would turn off my return pump if say a hermit crab clogs my drain? I don’t have an emergency drain on this durso overflow. Asking for a friend, his wife isn’t happy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Yes the bulkheads are a barb style and threaded through the tank. Never occurred to me I might need to change them. I assumed there was a pvc fitting that might work. I suppose I could flip the sump around, never really thought about it. A manifold would be nice, although I don’t see myself using reactors etc. Generally just want to move the piping up so I can clean the sump and get the skimmer in/out just a little easier.
