  1. Thank you for the definition.. I just found the Vertex manual.. Said it needs to be in 9-10inches.. As much as I don't want to, now that I added some supports to the stand, I will use a step drill and lower the water level so that I only have to raise up the skimmer 3-4" ... It should also keep the level in the refugium at a height that will keep the water flowing.... hopefully pvc this weekend. Richie
  2. Funny you should ask.... We just got done putting it into the sump and realize the wall that the water flows over to the next chamber is a bit to high at 16inches..... Its the Alpha 250... It doesn't come with a manual so I don't know how high it should sit .. hence the issue.. if I have to raise it up nine inches.. I will only have a 1/2 inch to remove the cup... A bit tight...
  3. WOW.. Two installs in Two Days... Picked up sump from UPS Freight today. ITS HUGE.. Okay Maybe I shouldn't have gone soooo big but .. I still have some space..
  4. Thanks Eric! I put some chalking around the edges just in case someone spills.. Im really starting to get excited, coming together after waiting months for the tank. See you soon, Richie
  5. Thanks!!!! I cant even tell you how lucky we were with the granite and cutting it before the tank was even here... Just need to pick up the sump from UPS Freight tomorrow.. so I can finish priming and painting the bar.. Then comes pvc work.. Richie
  6. We had all 8 on an eight foot tank and it was perfect. The load was spread evenly across. The stairs were a bit tight to navigate but we took our time... Thanks again! You can lock this thread Tom.. Updates will be on the build thread.. Richie
  7. Okay.. Took about 20 minutes to move the tank to the basement with the help of 8... BUT Im super excited. I have to admit that we got super lucky with the granite top. The tank fit like a glove. couldnt have planned it any more perfectly.
  8. OKAY that went a lot smoother than I thought it would. The club suction cups came in handy for sure! Would highly recommend to anyone moving a tank.
  9. Thanks!! I think I am set.. Hopefully everyone will show..
  10. Thanks.. I appreciate it.. I have 7 Right now.. Possible 8.. No need for you to come from G'burg. Will post pictures on build thread once its downstairs..
  11. I had some friends run and hide after committing to assist. I would like to move this tank from the garage to the basement. Which will be doing down a flight of outside steps and a hard right turn. If you have muscles and free time.. I will buy subway sandwiches and have some cold ones available for after.. I picked up 8 handles from the club this morning and need to return them Monday.. Im in Manassas close to the airport off of Clover Hill Road. PM me if you can swing by ... Thanks Richie
  12. Thanks ! I got 8 cups to help move this tank... I will definitely keep everyone posted on the H2Overflows and the Siphon Stoppers when this thing is full of water... soon i hope.. Rich
  13. No.. The tank will be on 2 x 6's on top of the ones with the lag bolts.... Long story but lessons learned while building... It will hold now.

  15. Now the fun really begins... How do I get this to the basement...Shippers forget the tank suction holders. Waiting till next week to move it out of my garage..
