  1. Five year tank and this is my first sighting of this little guy. Not sure when he hitchhiked in, but guessing it’s a little Brittle Star. Any thoughts? Sorry the picture sucks but I was trying to hold a flashlight and zoom in with my phone before he disappeared for good. He appears to be white with brown stripes.
  2. Thanks for the heads up. I’m linking mine now.
  3. Thanks for the feedback. It’s not a plate coral. The only one I had a few years back was yellow and orange. I’ll just give it a little longer and maybe we can figure it out as it grows. The most confusing part is that I don’t ever remember having something that looks like this.
  4. Thanks for the feedback. I tried another picture from the top and it seems like it’s a little clearer. Right now it’s still pretty small, so it may change as it gets bigger but right now it’s encrusting and it’s all hard. At first I thought it was part of my frog spawn when I first saw it but I ruled that out when I touched it.
  5. Anyone have any guesses? Unfortunately this is the best picture I’ve been able to get with my phone because of where this coral is positioned in the tank.
  6. This is the best picture I've been able to take. I just noticed this growing in my tank behind some other corals. I can't for the life of me remember ever having something in my tank that looked like this. It's green with purple tips. It's about the size of a nickel right now. Any ideas of what it could be?
  7. When they first came out, but it's been awhile and I forgot most of everything in them. I'll go back and check them out again.
  8. If this isn't in the correct section please move. I have an Apex that I received a few years ago that wasn't compatible with my old computer. Now that I have a new one I'm trying to set it up, but I don't know what I'm doing. I'm looking for someone who has experience setting up an Apex system. I'd be more then happy to pay you or trade anything from my tank that may interest you. I have two hammers, a frog spawn and a duncan that are getting way too big for my tank that I'd be happy to frag. Please PM if you want to discuss compensation. I live in Mt. Airy, MD. Thank you! Craig
  9. Thanks for the info. I'll keep an eye on them and see what happens.
  10. Do they usually survive? How long until they hatch?
  11. Anyone have any idea what this is? It looks like white stringy thread. It's stuck to my algae scrapper and the front of my glass in the corner.

  13. If it's not to late, I'll take two boxes of IO. I can pick up at ERC.
  14. Thanks for the feedback. When the hammer recedes a little I'll try to get a clearer picture. Under another rock in the back I have what looks like to white cotton balls. I assume they are some kind of sponge also, but it's to far back to get a picture.
  15. The first picture is of something growing under my hammer. It is a white rubbery looking growth. I can't tell if it's attached to the hammer or the rock under it. The second picture is a grayish white(although it looks more blue in this picture) line growing around the rock. This showed up once before, but then slowly disappeared. Any ideas what these are?
  16. I had the same problem. I went out of town for a week with my neighbor feeding my fish. When I got home I couldn't find my Jawfish for a long time and I didn't see any remains either. About a month later I found him dried up behind the furnace about 6 feet away from the tank. I never said anything to my neighbor, I just assume they forgot to put the top on one day after feeding. He was my favorite fish and I'll be getting a new one soon.
  17. Good, then he must be doing well.
  18. Interesting, I'll have to keep an eye on that.
  19. Anybody have any idea what's going on with my Hammer Coral? It has what looks like four bubbles growing in the middle of the hammer. It looks like a few of the tenticles have swelled up and it's been like this for a few weeks now. I have attached a picture of a couple of the tenticles.
  20. Thank you. I think I'll go that direction.
  21. I'm thinking about getting the ATO unit, but I was curious which connection to the Apex is preferred. Should I hook it up to a breakout box or directly to the Apex base unit? Any thoughts? Is there anything else that I'm missing?
  22. Thanks again for my clown! He looks healthy and active and is eating like a horse.
