  1. They come out so rarely so who knows...most likely fish food Let's see if this video of the eggs uploads ok https://vimeo.com/112239266 Forgive me for the Vertical Video but it was the only way to get the right angle. I tried a few times...
  2. So ever since the last hatch, my tank has been declining. Corals are receding, my montis are all dead, and my green slimer tips are holding small bouquets of algae. Probably the massive amounts of food i gave to the kiddos. Anyway, i been keeping an eye on my chromis den and found this today, which I'm pretty sure wasnt there yesterday. It's been a bit over a month since I last saw the babies and this is the first time seeing eggs. Oh, and my bi-color blenny looks huge and pregnant too...no other blennies in the tank btw.
  3. Btw, the first kit they sent me worked but it had issues. I am finally getting some new ones that should work better I hope. Hopefully will have better news to report soon...
  4. I disconnected the connector and just shoved wires inside the pins. But yes i think it best to disconnect the dimmers.
  5. The back we could see the wire trace though
  6. On a happier note my female harlequin shrimp looks stuffed with eggs. Here's a few shots of the two of them out and about tonight.
  7. So last baby fish was not found in overflow yesterday. :( At least now when I move the tank its one less thing to worry about..
  8. It's an eshopps r-100. My plan right now is to pull everything out and drain the tank down to enough water for the fish to be ok and then get the tank onto some furniter mover coasters. Theres already shimms there so getting under shouldn't be that tough the question is how to lever it without damaging the stand. Then move the stand and tank over so I can clean the carpet, dry it out and inspect the wood underneath for damage. Then reverse the operation when it's dried out. Obviously have to replace/repair the sump. But at least i have a plan. Also for the record and to keep the thread on topic, there is still one baby fish in the overflow...
  9. I think its from the sump i think its a seam on the sump.
  10. Not close enough :( I'm in North Bellmore, NY. Thats on Long Island for those that are familiar.
  11. Yep, except now there's a leak somewhere in my system. The carpet around my tank is moist all around. So now I need to figure out how I'm going to tackle this one and preserve this healthy environment :(
  12. Well, they're all gone now except for one in the overflow. I'm rooting for him!! The others are gone as far as I can tell. I'll be looking into some cultures and ways to "snag" the larvae in the future. I may try the next attempt with feeding artemia nauplii in the DT before working on a dedicated space for them. We'll see.
  13. I think I've only seen 2 in the overflow and tonight I was able to count the ones in the DT. There were thirteen in there. They aren't swimming as close and starting to venture. I don't think anyones trying to eat them. The clowns had plenty of opportunity the first night when you can see them hovering by the nem. I think I may be losing to starvation and my filter sock.
  14. Well, the herd has thinned tonight. The two I found yesterday in the overflow are still there, and instead of 20-30 in the DT we are down to 10-15 or so. More than 10 I think. So I now have an idea how long I have to fatten these guys up. I am going to try and prepare for the next hatching event and at least try to raise them in the DT. I'll get at least a brine culture going. They stay close together and I could easily spot feed a few times a day with the pumps off. Overall this has been a fantastic experience and amazed that such advanced life within my tank can propagate. It's one things to see snails and micro-organisms, but to see a swarm of little baby fishes is just so cool.
  15. Thanks everyone! It's been a real treat to watch them. I've been feeding some cyclopeeze, phyto feast, and oyster feast, on top of the usual LRS. It will be a real miracle if they make it further in the development. That's one of the parents. I have no idea how to sex them, but I would guess it's the mother as she's keeping the area around the babies clear. You can see her go under the ledge to keep the foxface away at the end of the video.
  16. The fry decided to leave the safety of their cave. Mama and papa are guarding closely. No one is bothering them at all... https://vimeo.com/108850993
  17. I would bet their diet of LRS has a lot to do with it!!! They eat out of my hands all the time! I'm going to hope that the pods in my tank along with some cyclopeeze and phyto will be enough. They are staying pretty concentrated in their cave. Parents are being VERY protective.
  18. I will probably not be able to raise them as I have nowhere to put them and no way to get to them. I do have an offer for rotifers . Maybe.. Supposedly they can be raised at 100% success rate though..
  19. They are Acanthochromis polyacanthus. Hmm. The video won't post. Well, guess you'll have to trust me then...
  20. I found these while doing my night time check this evening! It's so cool, was not expecting this at all. https://vimeo.com/108755293
  21. You could expand that hole if there is one. You can also add a piece of airline tubing into the hold and adjust it up or down till the gurgling stops.
