  7. As many of you know, the majority of our business is done online and we ship quite a bit of our coral all over the U.S. As of late, I have seen a few threads on here where people have had some negative shipping experiences with a few vendors and it has caused others to express concerns with buying corals online and having them shipped. Occasionally, things do happen but we take all precautions when shipping. I personally pack each order myself from start to finish and refuse to send anything that I personally would not want to put in a personal tank of my own. With winter coming, some folks may not be comfortable with the idea of shipping but I want to go a little in depth on how I ship for the winter months. First off, I use a much thicker, 1 1/4" thermally insulated box for winter months as opposed to my normal 1/2' collapsible styro boxes. All corals are triple bagged Each order is shipped using a high quality heat pack, not a uni-heat heat pack which is one of the most unreliable heat packs out there. All orders are shipped FEDEX PRIORITY OVERNIGHT! There is no Ground shipping for winter and there will be no ground shipping on corals from here on out!!! We just received a Hefty upgraded discount from fedex and will now be shipping all corals Priority overnight even in our normal ground area. This ensures all corals will arrive by 10:30 am. BEST OF ALL, SHIPPING IS STILL $15 AND IF YOU SPEND $125 SHIPPING IS ON US!! NO ONE LOCALLY HAVE THESE RATES FOR SHIPPING OVERNIGHT! For winter months, if you place an order for shipping but will not be home to receive the order, we can have it left at your local fedex facility for you to pick up at your convenience during the day! This ensures your corals sit in a temperature controlled environment and not on your front door step in freezing temps until you arrive home. I not only GUARENTEE your corals will arrive in great health but I also guarantee them for the first 5 DAYS. No other local vendors offer a guarantee on their corals either! Many here on wamas have dealt with me and know that I stand behind my corals and only want the best for all my customers. If you have never ordered from us before, give us a chance to provide you with the hottest corals at the lowest prices around, hands down. For all those who have never placed an order for shipping, your first package ships free!! I want everyone to see that shipping is not something to be weary of but something of great convenience for coral buying!! Stay tuned for some hot new updates and previews of what we will be bringing to the meeting this weekend, just got back from hand picking corals today and there are some HOT new pieces!

  12. Over the last year we have had the opportunity to get to know a lot of you here on wamas. Over that year, you have not only helped us grow but supported us tremendously. Through that time, we have been run off residential property and while it has served its purpose, we have been heavily toying with the idea of moving to a true store front/warehouse location to not only expand our size but to also offer a much larger inventory! We will still continue to handpick 100% of our coral and carry only the highest quality coral at prices everyone can afford! With this location we would What we want to know is, given the quality and prices we have, would you regularly shop in-store if we opened a location in Frederick Md. The location we are looking at is 25 miles North of the 495/270 split, all highway driving and located less than a 1/4 mile off the exit! We would love to hear your feedback!

  15. yes, definitely. you'll see great growth. check out alan's thread about using a d120 with similar spectrum on his tomato saplings. it was a pretty neat thread. updated - thank you. and will pm you info now.
  16. not a stupid question at all - we had that information in our original post and lost it and had to try to type from memory so sorry for not including. YES - it will screw right in those lights and most sockets in your home. added that information and warranty information to the post - thanks!
  17. we have been testing a few PAR38 LED bulbs over the last few months and have settled on a design and bulb that we now want to share with the rest of the community. this grow bulb grows chaeto, caulerpa, dragon's breath, blue ochtodes, mangroves, and we're interested to hear what you are able to grow with it. it has been producing much more growth than the typical CFL bulb in the refugium and macro tanks we have tried them over. we designed it with 12 3w LEDs - 4(430nm) & 8(660nm). it has a really neat heatsink design with soft/rounded edges unlike other bulbs that can catch on wires, clothes, and cut your fingers up. another neat little addition is the diffuser which blends the light nicely but also has a small opening above each LED-center to allow for increased LED penetration. we haven't had the need but the diffuser can be removed completely, as well. it comes with a standard E27 base so it'll plug right up into any of your sockets or the really popular clamp lights. lastly, it comes with a three-year warranty honored to the original buyer. we are working on a special new interactive part of our site to begin the retail sale of our new LED offerings including the evergrow fixtures. in the interim, folks can order this grow bulb here and either have it shipped or pick it up at the WAMAS meeting! we are selling this PAR38 LED grow bulb as part of this intro sale for $60 picked up at the WAMAS meeting or $65 shipped! the sale ends 10/12 so if interested just post up here or shoot us a PM with your first name, how many, and your email; we'll take care of the rest - thanks!
