I've been trying to renew my membership but the paypal linkage never works. I get an error " Sorry — your last action could not be completed"Hard to say if it's me as I use 2 factor authentication for paypal. However my palpal works fine with other sites.

I used the ato.com for a couple years and it was flawless especially with the RKE to prevent issues. I've had bad experiences with auto feeders and flakes & pellets, always overfeed. Now I just put out little containers with food and try to get someone to swing by and dump in.

I will actually be in Denver that weekend. I may stop by for a single day if I have time.

Curious if anyone is using one of these. Hard to find tuning information. Not getting very good surface skimming.

Seems to be on the mend now. Still sticking to the bottom of the tank and not active but no more gasping or obvious signs of distress.

My clownfish (Jackson) has taken a turn for the worse. I noticed some unsual behavior earlier this week, not sleeping in usual location, not as active durinig feeding (ate frozen brine shrimp yesterday). Currently, she is on the botton of the tank, doing the “gasping” thing. I had this fish for coming on 3.5 years and it has lived a paticullary hard life (first fish). Its survived moving to DC, 3 tank upgrades, rough water parameters as I learned, and even a near electrocution that nuked everything else in the tank (wife, gf at the time, dropped the light in the tank). Is it possible she’s just old? Water parameters: SG 1.024 Temp 76F pH 8.0 Ammonia- undetectable Nitrite- undetectable Nitrate- undetectable Phosphate- undetectable KH 143.2 Ca- 225 All other fish look, and acting great. Nothing new has been added to the tank since January. For 3 weeks I have been doing weekly water changes with a new box of salt (reef crystals) but this is my usual brand. Nothing remarkable about the fish (no flesh wounds, discharge, discolorations, etc) Still looks great just not mobile and gasping.

One of my ballast has started making a high pitch noise and is hotter than usual. I assume this means it is going bad. Is there anyway I can fix this or is it just a replacement sort of thing?

I see your in MD. I have a bottle of Instant Ocean Bio-Spira if you are interested. It’s not necessary but helps establish denitrifying bacteria for the final stage of the cycle. I decided not to use it as my cycle progressed so quickly.

+3. The fish and tanks at the Rockville Store look great and the prices are great. I've talked to the guy there a few times and he has multiple tanks himself. He has even done a good job training the staff that are in the fish dept when he's not there.

I get a reading of 0-0.2 with my new test kit. Thats why Im wondering if something else is feeding this outbreak.

How accurate is the test if you already have nuisance algae? I've been battle algae for months now. Tank is almost 1 year. Sand bed is finally clear but still grows thickly on rocks and glass.

Why does my return sometimes gurgle? This is accompanied by lowering of the water level in return section of the sump. Then it stops and the return section fills and repeats. At times it does not do it for days then starts back up again. I have a standpipe with an inverted elbow at waterline.
