  5. I'm sure they will survive in your tank.
  6. Anyone have pictures of the free frags from the event?
  7. Wish I was there. Looked like a great turnout.
  8. Moved the tank to the new house. It sits in front of a window now and I am running the chiller at 80 degrees. Tried to keep all the rocks the same as before the move, but it was a impossible task. Replaced about 50 gallons with ocean water during the move. A week after the move the cardinals continued to breed, cleaner shrimp continued to dump eggs and pods are still alive in the fuge. I noticed a huge amount of coraline have turned white or disappeared and algae have not growing at a reduced rate. I am not sure if this is due to moving the tank next to the window or the high volume water change. The tap water here is not as pure as my old place. Now my water reaches the di at 8ppm and reads 2ppm exiting the di chamber. Not sure if I should just fill the whole thing with di resin to get 0ppm like I did in my old house. Water pressure is lower here too. Takes me 2 hours to make 3 gallon of Rodi water. Surviving corals seems to be doing fine. I had the chance to get rid of the hitch hiker goby from my tank, but it has been with me for such a long time that I decided to keep it. A couple of days after the move I added about 25 hermit crabs and 10 snails. I plan to add a clown fish to replace the one that died when I was away. I will probably not be doing any water changes for a while. For some reason the tank does better with less water change. Guess it is a benefit of not having any lps or sps. I may use this time to add a bunch of dead coral skeletons in the sump to increase the bacteria population of the tank. I will also start to use carbon. The 2 tangs in my tank are growing pretty fast and I think I will have to get rid of one of them within the next 6 months.

  12. i have a jebao dc pump which died on me. i can send u the power supply/controller if u want it.
  13. so far all the fish are doing great. lone surviving clown fish started hosting a mushroom for some odd reason. this does not bother the mushroom at all, in fact the mushroom is now fully expanded all the time. one of the pajama cardinals have been eating the same white ball (maybe a small hermit crab?) for the past 2 days. not sure why it would not spit it out during feeding time to eat other foods. the black tang is now grey and started showing some colorful spots. tank is a lot cleaner now. I started dialing down the skimmer so that it will skim dry and that really helped the softies in the tank. the aiptasia are starting to come back, all the other corals are doing well and moving about in the tank. also started dosing just a little bit of reef roids in the tank along with the frozen food just to feed all the filter feeders in the tank. empties out the hospital tank and will set that up once I move.
  14. nice corals. so when is the 120 going to be setup?

  17. Most of my fish died. Had to go out of town for 2 months and the jebao return pump died on me the first week I was gone. So typical for things to go wrong when you are away. I don't know any reefers in the area who would be able to swap out the jebao with the eheim 1262. After I returned, swapped out the pump and found all the zoas are gone, 1 banded shrimp dead, bunch of baby shrimps around, pods all gone from the fuge. In my jbj I was using as a hospital tank, blue hippo dead, yellow tang dead, one clown dead. Transfer living fish to the 75. Fish are doing fine now, but must be a bad sign when aiptasia started to die in your display. Survivors: mushrooms, feather dusters, sail fin tang, black tang, clown, 3 cardinals, snails, hermit crabs, hitchhiker goby, star fishes. Moving again soon and not adding anything else until after the move.
  18. Tank looks really nice. Is the Marine Betta reef safe? I read that it eats small shrimps and fish.

  20. i followed the instruction, tested copper and it was really low so i gradually added more until it reached 2.0 someone else here in hawaii using natural seawater recently got velvet. i guess i will have tomake my own water from now on. the black stripes on my hippo tang turned yellow for some reason. normal?
  21. Didn't add the rocks. Fish is doing bad again. The dusty look is back again, but the hippo is still swimming around and eating. Not sure what to do.
