coral hind you say to remove it ok but what should i replace it with? if i did it would be nothin but a skimmer and some live rock in the sump!

I am using the c-skim 1800 and I believe it is amazing not alot of people have it but as far as I can see its an awsome skimmer.

Yea I understand the if it don't broke don't fix it thing but I don't wanna start buying sps and losing it due to filtration. I just want to know what I should use if not the bucket other than the skimmer.

So nobody wants to help me out?

OK ive had a FOWLR tank before but i just bought i used fully set up 210G tank with everything live rock coral the works. i need to know if the filtration system is a POS or not because it was made by the previous owner. i know it works becuase ive had it now for 7 months and no coral have died. There is a couple large pieces of SPS but mainly all softies and one big toadstool. there are two return overflows that go into a sixty gallon sump which the guy made his self and its not too bad so i kept it. This is the part i need help with tho, the first return goes into a 5 gallon bucket filter which has a filter pad ontop of a screen ontop of bio balls then drains back into the sump. the other return just flows in the sump near the pump for my skimmer. it then goes into the second sump(connected by a union) where my return pump and some sump rock is located. the sump is made out of rubber made tubs which i know alot of people do and they fit great under the tank and are both very big and hold alot of water so i know i wanna keep them. but is the 5 gallons bucket homemade filter a POS? and if it is what shoud i get?? i want to start adding more SPS in my tank.

Thanks, would it be a problem to scrape them in the tank also? i have some on a 30 pound piece of rock thats EXTREMELY hard to move?

So i have a bunch of green mushrooms and they are spreading like crazy taking over places i dont want them too. i dont know much about it but how do i remove them? and is there a way to do it without killing?

I got my Flame angel from roosens in clinton. its was $42 and 3" long so almost full grown. most places are charging much more. i have alot of LPS and some SPS in my tank and it has never touched anything! some do some dont but i feel its worth the risk IMO.

ok thanks alot for the help. i was hoping to be able to use just 3. i have some sps but mainly lps so that shouldnt be a problem for me. Now you say change the Pucks does ecotech sell them already? and if so do you know how much they are charging? thanks again!!

Im looking into getting some LED lights for my reef tank and was wondering if anybody could help me figure out if the ecotech radions are going to be ok on my tank. i know very little about them, only what they have on there website so i want to hear from somebody that has them personally. I have a 210 gallon mixed reef. its 72"x24"x28" with an 8" canopy. At the moment im running three MH, a 250 in the cnter and two 150's on the ends and my coral seem to be doing fine so could i use three radions? and with the lights being so high will it even be enough light for the bottom of the tank? They do not state how long they are good for(hourly or yearly) so how long do these fixtures even last because they are VERY pricey. Thanks for reading and hopfully you all can help me out!!
